What I Ate

Hello world...it's time to get back.

Back to seeing friends.
Back to tracking my food.
Back to doing what's right for my body.
Back to reading.
Back to writing.
Back to my blog.

I'm going to try a What I Ate at least once a week...I learned about it from several blogs I read, but have never joined in.

There's always a beginning.  His mercies are new each day...Today I'm claiming them.

In random order...my food from Sunday

Apples with cinnamon and string cheese - afternoon snack on the porch

Dried edamame - snack...I was still hungry.

Dinner - salad with chicken, tomatoes, and covered with a guacamole salsa from Trader Joe's (and chips).

My favorite evening snack...yogurt and PB2...yum!

My favorite breakfast ever...bagel thin with PB2, fruit (strawberries), and protein smoothie pancakes - WW Greek yogurt whipped with egg whites...yum!  Every Sunday and Saturday, I get to eat these because I have more time to cook.

Lunch - Chinese cabbage salad with Asian dressing from the Pioneer Woman and a roll and veggies

There you have it...

My thoughts

I was given the Dessange products free to try, but my opinions are strictly mine!

I was given shampoo, conditioner, and replenishing oil. Here is the description from the site for their shampoo.

DESSANGE Paris introduces Oleo Miracle Collection, a hair care line infused with nutrients from nature's most precious oils. Bolstering delicious notes of orange, gardenia petals and sandalwoor, the reparative collection works to help transofmr hair suffering from thermal, chemical, and environmental damage for a  visibly softer, healthier look. Offering intense nourishment, the formulas are infused with three kay natural oils: Argan Oil, Camelia Oil, and Pracaxi Oil, leaving hair smooth, bounce and manageable.

The Oleo Miracle Replenishing Shampoo is DESSANGE's first shampoo infused with micro-drops of precious oilds, the lightweight formula offers supreme nourishment to hair without weighing it down.

I love the smell of the products and the oil was really nice with helping defrizz my hair before I flat iron it.

However, I don't use conditioner every day and only one drop of oil was enough for my hair.  I felt that after using the products many days in a row began to weigh down my hair and cause it to feel greasier.  Not sure if that was my imagination or not.

I probably wouldn't use these products in the future every day, but the replenishing oil is something I would look into.  Especially for the lovely winter dry hair.

Harrumph

That's how I feel.

I did it to myself.

Two weeks of sometimes tracking.

I chickened out tonight. I weighed in at home rather than at a meeting.

But tonight, my food is tracked, the kitchen is closed, and I'm planning on having the scale go down next week instead of up.

And no, I didn't gain tons, just a few pounds over two weeks. But I also know that continuing on in this pattern isn't going to help me at all.

No march madness here.

Thankful

I'm thankful for many things...
Being able to call family and just chat
Friends that know me
Fresh green beans
A husband who clean them and even puts away the dishes
A teacher evaluation that went well
A house that is warm tonight
A classroom where some of the worst behavior is keep your hands to yourself
Jobs that allow me to be creative
Jobs that encourage a healthy lifestyle

And in just a few short moments, a warm bed that I can asleep in.

Thankful!!!

Good-bye dear friend!

It's hard to say good-bye.  Especially when they've been around for more than 15 years...but sometimes it's good to let go.

But I had to let go...

This has been my go-to mug.  It didn't leak.  It never smelled from old coffee sitting in it for more than a day.  It was a mug that caught everyone's eye.

However, it began to leak onto the paper and as you can see from the photo, the once vibrant colors began to fade.

It was time to say good-bye.  So before I bid adieu to my cup, I took a photo.

Thank you for the tea.  Thank you for the hot cocoa and marshmallows.  Thank you for the countless cups of coffee.

One day, I hope to have another cup as wonderful as you!

Influenster

I had an amazing package come in the mail. An Influenster box filled with some amazing products!!!

There was also a hairbrush in there, but I forgot to take a picture of it.  I've taken photos of what I really loved!  The lipstick from NYC Expert Last SugarPlum Lip Color was a beautiful shade, but I am just not a lipstick wear-er.  Same for the waterproof black eyeliner from Rimmel London.  Easy to put on, but too dramatic for me.

I haven't used the Thyme yet, but it looks amazing...very different than the ground up thyme I normally buy.

However, this eye make up remover from Rimmel London was a HUGE hit in my book.  Cleaned well.  Not greasy.  Easy on the contacts.  A win in my book and I will definitely buy this when I run out!

These bites from Fruit Vines were amazing!  Chewy, cherry, and just plain goodness!

I was not paid for my opinions, but I did receive these products for free to try...if you are interested in joining Influenster, leave me a comment and I'll send you a link!
