Best ever!

Perfect and ordained timing.

I was about to take a shower and spend a quiet evening reading my book.

Let me back up though. While at Walmart tonight the lady in front of me forgot her card in her car. Knowing I needed to be somewhere, I offered to pay the bill while she was out getting the card. I left before she came back in, but that was actually what I wanted.

Back up even more. Sunday we had talked about how rich of a nation we are and how God asks us to richly bless those around us.

I did and got the biggest blessing of all.

Back to present time.

As I made my coffee for tomorrow, put a few items away, and shut off the lights a van pulled up to my house. I saw someone popping up and thought maybe it was my sister and then realized who it was.

My friend Megan who is living in Tanzania for two and a half years.

She and her husband had to pick up a few items before going to her parents' house for her brother's wedding Saturday. And she made her husband stop. To see me. What a blessing far beyond riches.

Asking...

For those who know me, I'm asking for prayers.  I am not going to go into specifics, but I am hoping that things work out by next week otherwise I need to go in for more blood tests.

Just pray for clear answers and for correct steps to happen if need be.

Thanks...

Uh oh...

I did the unthinkable. I skipped church.

Why?

I needed a morning alone. Alone with me and time that I could just enjoy this morning.

And partly because I am in a rough mood and don't need to go into it on my blog and didn't need to hear happy Mother's Day over and over...can you tell I am pms -ing?

My morning consisted of memorizing new verses, reading part of Love Does, household cleaning, writing my Compassion kids, and listening to worship music.

It was a morning truly needed.

A Surprise Visit...

Could she become a diva when she grows up?

My family surprised me at school.  And yes, I know...I look like my dad.

One reason I love my job...

I love my job!  And I love the comments that kids make!

Today was no exception!

We were reading a book that mentioned that the class had found an old US flag that only had 48 states.

The kids questioned the number.

I asked them if they knew the last two states that became part of the US.

"Uh, Mexico?"

No...Mexico is not part of our country.

Insert confused look from student.

"Mexico is part of our continent."

Another student pipes in with, "Russia?"

Oh, nelly...

And then after lunch recess, one of my girls was really warm.  She had a sweatshirt on over her dress and said she couldn't take it off because she had noodles.

Knowing what she meant, but wanting to make sure, I asked her to explain that...

She said, "I have noodle straps on my dress."

Uh, yeah, those are called spaghetti straps.  I giggled inside.

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

Surprise!

When you are encouraged by someone, challenged by someone, taught by someone and you meet them by chance, you get excited. Silly. Stupid. Overly ecstatic to meet them.

See. Me. And Brenda Powers of Choice Literacy. At my school.

Oh goodness!!!
