Routines...not to be broken!!!

Routines were made to be broken, right? Not too sure after this morning. After hitting the snooze button once (a routine), I got dressed (routine), headed downstairs to make coffee (routine) and began my egg-white omelette (four year routine). The past few days I have tried cooking my egg whites in the microwave. They seem to turn out fluffier that way. Today began a new routine!

I separated the eggs and placed the four egg whites into the bowl and mixed them up well. Add some dried onions and into the microwave to cook for a minute. Wait time. Pierced the eggs to release air bubbles. Cook another minute. Wait time again. Listened to the air bubbles hiss and steam. Pierced and flipped over the eggs to cook the other side (can't stand runny eggs) and in for another minute. Wait time again...and listened to air bubbles. They began to be louder so I stopped the microwave and took them out. I pierced the eggs and as I entered the fork for the last pierce, a loud POP filled the room. At the exact same time, and in slow motion, a volcano erupting egg whites occured on my counter, my clothes, and my floor. Whoops...guess I'll go back to cooking them on the stove.

Dave Ramsey

I have been reading Dave's book, Total Money Makeover. I even began my first ever budget. I am using the envelope system and I am so excited! I've been using cash and let me tell you, I don't seem to spend as quickly as I did before. I also am excited to see what is left over at the end of the month to put towards my debt. This summer, I also took on a few tutoring jobs. In the past, I used to tutor a lot more, but kind of let it go. However, this summer, I am trying to use all of this money towards paying back one of my loans faster. Plus, the change that accumulates is going to go towards building wells in Africa. So excited about giving this money away. What a weird concept...giving it away and receiving absolutely nothing back...and still feeling joyous about it. Will update you on the debt snowball as it continues to be smaller and smaller!!!

Hmmmm...

Ever get ready to turn into a parking space only to find that there is a motorcycle, moped, or a compact car that is already occupying it? Today, I had to laugh as I watched a gentleman pull into 1 1/2 spaces with his moped...hmmmm...

Long time no post...

I haven't posted because my internet has been sketchy plus I've taken a break. Not sure what to post at times is another excuse.

However, i recently returned from our high school church camp down in Panama City Beach. It was interesting to say the least. It was a year that was hard because out of my small group girls, only one was attending and I didn't really know many of the students. Most of the leaders who were going were also younger and I felt VERY out of my element. Plus, right before, there was a frustrating family event.

Looking back, it was a wonderful time to dive into the Word, enjoy the presence of the Lord as I watched the ocean roll in, corporately worship with 1500 students and leaders, and just in general, step out of my comfort zone and try to meet people.

There were a few points brought up in the messages that caused me to evaluate myself. I am trying to be more in the present rather than focusing on what I still have to do and taking my attention off of who I am with or what I am doing at the present time.

I also bought several new praise songs off of iTunes...love Hillsong and Chris Tomlin. Excited for the talents of these people!
