Locker room problems

Readers, I have to confess...I was changing in the locker room and there was NO ONE AT ALL in the locker room or that had come in behind me to work out. So I did it.

I let one.

And wouldn't you know...clicks on the floor.

Crap!

I tried to circulate the air as best as I could...

Hoping she had a cold today.

Imagine...

I would have titled this post redemption, but I am not sure if it completely applies.

I have been zumba-ing for a few years. Never in my wildest imagination would I have ever to expect what will be starting soon. One of the ladies is going on maternity leave and I will get to teach her class two days a week. Wow!!!

I am not a trained dancer, unless you count the one year I took in tap when I was five. :)

I am not the best dancer, but I enjoy doing it. Although tonight's lack of coordination might prove me wrong.

I am excited to stay on the path of being active and pushing myself to the next level. Thank you Jesus that you see more in us than we see in ourselves.

Funnies

"My mom got the roof fixed."

Huh?

"The engine roof."

Yep, I'll have to teach car parts...he meant the hood.

Letting It Go...

One of my biggest struggles has always been valuing what others think about me.  If they were upset with me, if they didn't like me, etc.

There's a certain person at church who I can't seem to understand.  I say hi to them and their response back is never quite friendly.

So, what do I do?

Well, sad to say, I've tried to say hi each week and be friendly and see what happens.

Yep, still an unfriendly tone.

What to do now?

Readers, you'll be glad to know that the next time I see this person, I am not going to feel the need to say hi. If they say hi, I'll say hi back and engage in conversation when and if needed.  But, person who shall remain nameless, what you think of me and if you are kind to me or not DOES NOT MATTER!

Sorry you won't get to hear my funny conversations about kids.  Sorry you won't get to know me better.  Sorry you won't get an encouraging hello.  You must be going through a battle and for now, I will pray that God places others around you who are encouraging, but I won't feel the need to say hi...

Had to vent a little...

And no, it's not you reader!

Organizing Update

Before...lots of bags and stuff on the floor

Before - bags and other items all over the floor

A basket of electronic recharging cords, box of mail to sort, a mixer, and yes, that's my laptop under the black basket.

Both drawers were full of papers

The papers that I went through

After

I sort my mail now into folders

After...now all of my Christmas decorations are down in the basement and my clothes were brought into this closet.  Now I only make one trip down for clothes instead of two levels down.

After...the other side now of the closet.  I still have a few things to do in this closet.

Only one drawer is taken now of papers.

Yum!

I love my Google Reader.  It saves me time and lets me collect new blogs to read (when I have time).

I love the new blogs I have been reading.  Iowa Girl Eats is a fun one and I tried her chocolate meringue cupcakes...but with a twist.

Instead of the 1/4 cup oil, I replaced it with applesauce.

I think it was a mistake.  The cupcakes weren't as dense as hers, but they were still pretty tasty and for me, they were one point.  I'll take it!

He is enthralled with my gift.

He loves me!

We made tons of baked goodies!!!  Love the time I get with these guys, too!

New Thoughts

Lately, people are starting to notice a few more pounds that have come off.  I decided I needed more help and more accountability.  (When you live alone, there is NO ONE when you eat most meals, and I am definitely lacking self-control.)  Therefore, I joined Weight Watchers.

I am being honest (most of the time - Christmas vacation was a little tough).  I am being held accountable.  I am seeing results from good choices.

And for the first time, readers, a new thought popped into my head last night during my workout.

Looking into the mirror, I began the "I don't like..." thoughts and then stopped.  I like my shoulders.  I am seeing definition in my upper body, AND I liked how my legs looked last night in my workout pants.  They looked strong, muscular, and allow me to move and workout.  Now while I may not like them yet in shorts, I don't EVER remember a time where I was okay with my legs, let alone say they look good.

Progress, people, progress.

It's a New Year...and a New Me!

If anyone is out there...thank you! Thanks for still reading after I have neglected my blog.  I kind of neglected myself.  No more!

Time to get on to a year of TRUST.  It's my one word for the year. What is God going to do? I don't know, but I am going to continue to trust that His plan is good and is what is right for me.

And it's a year of new goals...I love that one of my friends asked what my goals were for the year...here's the beginning of them.

  • Thirteen books plus my book club books.
  • Thirteen miles to run a month.
  • Thirteen get togethers with friends.
  • Thirteen new dinner recipes.
  • Thirteen new dessert recipes.
  • Keep off the thirteen pounds I have lost (and if a few more come off, that's okay too).
  • Thirteen crafts off of my Pinterest boards.
  • Thirteen letters -minimum - to my students I sponsor.
  • Memorize thirteen verses...through the Living Proof Ministries blog is where I got the idea.  My friends, Sarah and Katie are keeping me accountable.
Okay...that's enough for now...we will see if I add more.

And yes, January is junk January...get rid of at least one thing a day...loving it!!!

To come are pictures of organization of around my house over my break.

Again, thanks dear readers.  Want to create some goals of your own?
