I picked up my latte and saw a movement to my right. It was small. It was gray. It was moving. What are you inferring? It was an actual bird! The chirping I had heard was not a cd track. It was a real live bird. In fact, I saw two. As I tried to take their photo with my camera, they, like Scaredy Squirrel, flew away to the safety of their tree one floor above.
I guess in an effort to beautify the lobby, nature came to help take care of its own.

It makes me want to look for the nest! It is spring... baby birds must be coming!
I appreciate the effort hotels go through to make you feel more comfortable. I was registering at a hotel in Florida, and to my surprise in the middle of the lobby was a lake with two resident swans. What a treat.
I love your morning surprise. Nice!

Which reading conference did you attend?
I used to love going to the Hyatt Regency near my home and watch the birds swoop and dive. I imagine they try to control the number in that hotel somehow, but it's fun when one or two escape and populate the balconies. The other surprise I had was two birds in the Frankfurt airport--sitting up in the ceiling above the rafters--a much shorted distance from my head!
fun post--
