Nowadays we think in levels. Reading, writing, weight loss, workout intensity, and today I suggest grocery store levels.
Whole Foods
Trader Joes
Martins
Kroger
Walmart
Aldi
Amish bulk stores
And junkin...
I introduced my friend to the last two today. We found great cheese and snacks. I found Crystal Light and mint chocolate almonds at the junk store.
I introduced her to the fine art of checking expiration dates and wrapping.
And to odd finds.
Oh the joys of junking!

Not sure what treacle is, but I love your idea of shopping levels!
There was a time when I enjoyed the Amish stores, but now it's just whatever is most convenient. My daycare is right next to the grocery store (Giant), so I usually shop alone and then pick up the kids, it's so much easier!
I agree with you. There are times I will go to the regular grocery store and other times I'll go to Trader Joe's or Whole Foods. I like to buy different things at different places to change it up a bit. Otherwise, I get tired of the same old selections.
I've never made it to the upper levels of grocery shopping, but my husband (who does most of the shopping) would love junkin! Finding a bargain is his specialty.
